I booked a night here since it was close to the airport and our accommodations for the trip were far and we we’re arriving very late. I called ahead let them know of our late arrival. Turns out our flight was delayed twice making our arrival even later. Arriving into Hilo at 0130 was not the easiest. We couldn’t get a Lyft, Uber, or taxi. This isn't a hotel. It is closer to an AirBnb/High-End Hostel. Either way, it is awesome. We stayed in the guest house. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I slept great. The room was clean and had everything I expected. Ray runs the day to day ops and he is an awesome, welcoming guy. Our room had an incredible view of the rainforest and the ocean. Staff extraordinarily helpful

Large clean room with access via a veranda to a tree shaded backyard with tables and a barbeque. Best breakfast with a variety of generous choices of eggs, meats , fruits or cereals, jams and cream cheese ( whatever is in the fridge as a fair game). The cottage is located within 3 minute walk from a beach next to million dollar homes., and a short drive to other beaches, parks and waterfalls, museums and everything else the east coast of Hawaii has to offer. A hidden gem in an old style Hawaiian hotel by Hilo Bay. The room was impeccable in cleanliness, amenities and comfort. Beautiful surroundings on Banyan Drive with so much outdoor activity at your doorstep.

We were really only there to sleep but it was a great place to sleep with a full kitchen and beautiful vegetation all around. The smells were incredible and everything was very clean. The others staying in the house were very nice and quiet.

The location was perfect for our stay, all the activities that we had planned for the weekend was in Waimea or Waikoloa Village so it was so much easier then staying in Kailua town or Waikoloa. All the staff members that we dealt with were super friendly and helpful!! This place reminded me of going to the outer island in the 60's and 70's, super "chilled vibe" If you are looking for the "Aloha Spirit" and not the "Mega-Resort" this is the place to stay!!
