"Good comms on the phone before I arrived. Kindly suggested that I park at the secure NCP car park next door as there had been some theft recently, which was cheap enough. The room I was given had been smoked in (not the hotels fault) - the guys on the reception immediately swapped me to another room with no quibbling which was great. Hotel could do with a couple of touch ups, but it was clean and friendly and an absolute bargain compared to other options. Very good breakfast too"

"This hotel has pleasant rooms, comfortable beds, well balanced breakfasts, helpful staff. The surroundings look like a bomb site. Parking was a challenge. The open air areas were fine but very limited. The covered areas required a lot of skill to manoeuvre the small confined spaces. Not good enough even though paid for parking. "

"I swore to myself that I wouldn't use another ibis hotel after a horrendous stay in a Birmingham one many years ago. However I needed a hotel near to an event I was going to and because I'd left it late my usual hotel was full. It was only for one night so I figured I could cope with it. Yes, it was basic (clue in the name), but it was clean and the bed was comfy. I was expecting more noise later on but this was minimal and I was only woken up once. "Good location, on street parking where you pay at meter but when we were there the meters were not working so got free parking. Breakfast is buffet style with reasonable choice, cooked items, bread, toaster, jams, fruit, cereals, etc. Restaurant and bar available for evening meals or drinks and lots of take away and restaurant choices within a 5 minute walk. Park opposite, shops nearby, train station not far away either. Building is old so expect some creaky floors and older style design, but...

"We only had an over night stay but the staff were very welcoming and friendly, room was clean. We had breakfast in the restaurant next morning before leaving and could not fault anything from the service to the meal itself excellent. "

"Decor is a little bit tired, mostly clean although the shower head hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Staff were pleasant and helpful but have the air of someone that had been dragooned in to manning the desk due to wearing tracksuit bottoms and a puffer jacket. Quite quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Tea, coffee and kettle in the room. WiFi and mobile reception was not good. It was fine for my needs and I slept well."
