The grounds are beautifully decorated and inspire serenity. For the price though, the carpet was stained, the side table lamp had a terrible odor, the tiles in bathroom were coming off and the tub sealant was cracked. We did enjoy the location of our room, the fireplace, the breakfast and the service was excellent.

Loved the outdoor fireplace; even though it's public, it's built for privacy. Loved being able to walk to the main street shopping and the beach. I will stay here again.

Stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday. The room and service were great. Location was in the middle of downtown Carmel, so everything was walking distance. The breakfast meat quiche was delicious. The bathtub had jets, which was very relaxing. The parking lot is a bit tricky to maneuver, but there is also street parking. Walls might be a bit on the thin side. Definitely heard the next-door neighbors "in the act," which may have been the only negative part of our stay.

We booked this to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The hotel upgraded us to an ocean view at no charge. It was quiet and we could hear the ocean waves at night. There were e-bikes to rent which was great- the first hour was free. Breakfast was served to our room at the time we requested and a nightly turn down service with a cookie was an added bonus. The fitness room had a good amount of weights and the location of the hotel was so close to the ocean. I would definitely go back! Loved it!

We loved the Tally Ho Inn and will make it our preferred place to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Almost all rooms have ocean views with their own decks or patios. Rooms are well-designed with good use of space and nice amenities. On-site parking a plus. Just a block from the main commercial street and a short walk down to the beach.

Decorations are beautiful and cozy. It was very relaxing to sit at the lobby or breakfast table or in our own room viewing the ocean with my husband. Quiet and beautiful environment. We enjoyed staying there.

The Pine Inn is an older hotel. Great location to everything! The furnishings are dated but that is what makes the hotel so unique. Rooms/hotels are very clean with beautiful grounds that are so well kept. Amenities - it would have been nice if they had coffee for the guests. We had a very nice ocean view but note the street below can be very noisy at 6 am in the morning. There are no fans or air conditioning so we had the windows opened a lot. The restaurant at the hotel has a great happy...

The front desk was very accommodating. Yes, you might have steps but due to an injury I had to request a downstairs room. Fabulous service and yes they graciously moved us. If you select convenience over fancy choose this hotel. Walkable to the beach, convenient to Carmel shopping and you don't have to find street parking. The room could use a little updating (new blinds) but nothing that you can't live with for a few days.

We love Wave Street Inn! So close to Cannery Row. The room was comfortable and clean. I usually find something wrong about a place but not here. Plenty of towels, very clean shower, comfy bedding. There’s a couple of fire pits they light on the second floor and plenty of chairs to hang out. Just so very pleased all around.*Please note: they do charge a parking fee for each day of your stay but you know what? You’d be paying to park in a garage or lot anyways. This isn’t any more than that. Plus...
