"Contacted the hotel 4 wks & then again 2 wks in advance about our reservation - they never got back to us. Arrived & they were going to rent us the room, despite it being nearly midnight (but before their deadline to checkin). We paid an additional $125 & they rented it to us. Got bite 10 times by a Mediterranean recluse spider (venomous). Would never stay here again, at $500/a night it was terrible."

"In the middle of the maze of Venice. Central and walking distance to all the main attractions. Make sure you have Google Maps :) But even then you’ll get lost but that the fun part of it. The boat to and from airport is a couple blocks away. Best way to go. If you are just looking view this is not the place but a perfect place to sleep. Only negative was their recommendation to their Da Gioia Restaurant. Seafood horrid and service not great. When we complained about the scampi his English got worse:)."

"First of all, it’s an old building and that’s expected from Venice, but the furniture and carpet inside the rooms really need to change. There was some amount of dust which questions whether rooms are properly vacuumed. The bedsheets are clean but I noticed 5 insect bites on my right upper leg in the morning. I know what a mosquito bite looks like so this was not it. The rooms are not sound proof - I could clearly hear the guests in the other room talking. Breakfast was ok."
