"Good comms on the phone before I arrived. Kindly suggested that I park at the secure NCP car park next door as there had been some theft recently, which was cheap enough. The room I was given had been smoked in (not the hotels fault) - the guys on the reception immediately swapped me to another room with no quibbling which was great. Hotel could do with a couple of touch ups, but it was clean and friendly and an absolute bargain compared to other options. Very good breakfast too"

"This hotel is really good value for money. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and there was free WiFi. The views from our window weren’t great (we were overlooking a large grey flat roof and a building site) but that’s not what I was paying for so it didn’t bother me. The check-in was fast and efficient however I was hit with a £30 refundable deposit per room (I’d booked two rooms) which wasn’t an issue for me in the long run but I don’t recall being made aware of that...

"I swore to myself that I wouldn't use another ibis hotel after a horrendous stay in a Birmingham one many years ago. However I needed a hotel near to an event I was going to and because I'd left it late my usual hotel was full. It was only for one night so I figured I could cope with it. Yes, it was basic (clue in the name), but it was clean and the bed was comfy. I was expecting more noise later on but this was minimal and I was only woken up once. "We stayed for an event at the Sheffield Arena that’s pretty close by. The hotel was much better value than the Sheffield City centre hotels. The bar area is busy and welcoming, the room is pretty basic but as to be expected for the price the range. The bathroom was basic but the shower unit was good. "

"Decor is a little bit tired, mostly clean although the shower head hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Staff were pleasant and helpful but have the air of someone that had been dragooned in to manning the desk due to wearing tracksuit bottoms and a puffer jacket. Quite quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Tea, coffee and kettle in the room. WiFi and mobile reception was not good. It was fine for my needs and I slept well."
