"A small hotel tucked away in an alley. We walk right by at first and didn't even see it. This hotel is clean, easy to navigate and doesn't have a huge amount of amenities. There's a washer dryer (500 yen total) on first floor with the vending machines. There's a tiny garden out front and that's it. Honestly, if you're in Kyoto you will be out exploring anyway. "This was in such a convenient location - you could see it from the Shinkansen platform. The staff were amazingly attentive, and visible the whole time. Two lifts made getting in and out very convenient. "

"The facility is nicely located at the station. The staff are very helpful in suggesting places to eat and even help us with reservations. My family really enjoyed the soap and lotion provided. The room and lobby area are also very nice. Will definitely come back with the whole family."

"Modern hotel nested in a quiet area. Kyoto station and shopping mall only 10min walk. First floor had a posh lobby with restaurant that offered great breakfast buffet and dinner options. Staff were super friendly and spoke perfect English. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and had good toiletries. The only down side was the lack of an onsite laundry, there is a laundromat 5mins walk but can’t say it’s the cleanest."

"This property is clean, well runa nd only a 10 min walk to the station. It was great having access to a washing machine after nearly two weeks traveling and the de-humidifyier helped our clothes dry overnight. The apartment was large for Japan and we would stay here again. "

"Umekoji Potel is undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've stayed in! The hotel was incredibly easy to get to and from Kyoto station (as Umekoji is one stop away) our room was amazing with a fantastic view of the park. The staff were amazing from the moment we stepped through the door and were always keen to help us when needed. The facilities are excellent and it was lovely to have different spaces to relax in other than our room. Incredibly family-friendly as well. Thanks for the lovely time! "

"One of the staff who worked at front desk, i think his name is Sagar, he helped me out when my luggage wasnt delivered from toyo, i received 3 lugagges and was missing one, i asked him to helped me to call Yamato and follow up for me, he called and even made sure that the luggage was delivered to my room when it arrived. He was very helpfully."
