"Mimaru is an excellent place to stay in Kyoto. It is only three subway stops from Kyoto Stdtion and it is in a very quiet area. It has exceptional amenities and our room was impeccably clean and very comfortable. There is a Family Mart about 30m from the front entrance. Highly recommended."

Only thing I didn't care for , and I know most people would like, is the electronic check in and precheck in system. I'm kind of old school and like doing things by paper. 10/10 recommendation! "

"Neighborhood hotel. Small and quaint. NOT the resiv stay kyoto but a5 minute walk from busses and subway. Easy to get around is you don't want to use cabs. Neat neighborhood. "

"Positives: The room was bigger than the one in Tokyo (however, this doesn't say much since Tokyo hotel rooms are the size of full-sized American cars :)). The room was very clean and well-maintained. It had a kitchen with utensils and a reasonable-sized fridge. The bathroom was well equipped with several soaps and towels. There was fast in-room wifi as well. Negatives: The neighborhood was extremely blah. Our first cab driver couldn't even find the hotel properly. There were no metro stops...

"This is a hidden gem. I was suspecting that the low price for my single room might reflect on it's quality but I was wrong. There's enough of space. The person attending the front desk was genuine and friendly. One of the biggest perks is the location. I would stay again, thank you "
