10/10 Excellent

"Nice, modern room with a comfy bed. Only negative was the disappointing dinner menu. We were planning to eat at the hotel but the menu was very basic with limited choices, and also expensive. Other than that, would stay again."

Redworth Hall Hotel

"The hall is beautiful with nice gardens and lots of character. Unfortunately the spa was very full and therefore not enjoyable and we had a terrible nights sleep because there is zero soundproofing, we could hear everything from the room above us and any movement in the corridor. I particularly loved our characterful room and view and the surprise jetted bathtub, but even though we turned the radiators off the large pipes throughout the room were still providing too much heat so we had to leave the windows open. It is a shame as the staff were wonderful, breakfast was good with lots of choice and the building really is stunning."

Hotel Bannatyne Durham

"Stayed here expecting high end, unfortunately I felt disappointed. Hotel seemed somewhat dated and in need of an uplift. The Bannatyne club was completely separate from the hotel and was the other side of the carpark. If booked directly with hotel I think the club is complementary, unfortunately if not it incurs a £15 supplement per day. Hotel only offers a small selection of bottled drinks, crisps and chocolate. All other food is in the separate club building. Staff were un-engaging and checking took longer than it should have. Double bed was 2 single beds pushed together and could feel the join, toilet flush wasn’t the best and the room/toilet looked a little tired. Could hear the road noise but not too bad with window closed."
