"Excellent location, most things were within walking distance. The premises are well kept, and clean. Rooms have the old San Juan feel but with modern touch, such as the remodeled bathrooms. We enjoyed our stay, and would recommend! "
"My stay at El Colonial was better than expected. I needed a single night’s stay and my expectations were exceeded. The hotel is beautiful the amenities were amazing and I would most definitely stay here once again with more time."
"I stayed in a room with a terrace and it was lovely. I was worried that the Murphy bed might be uncomfortable, but it was very comfortable! The terrace was huge and with lots of places to sit and some shade. The room was larger than I expected, very clean and comfortable with a/c, a ceiling fan, a great closet (with lots of hangers) and very functional bathroom.
The location of the hotel is excellent - a short walk to everything in Old San Juan, and each staff member I had contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. The building itself is also very beautiful.
I would absolutely recommend staying at the Decanter, it was better than I expected and was a great stay in Old San Juan!"
"My husband and I stayed here. I’m very big on history and It was good to stay in a place where it felt like walking back in time. It was cozy, and conveniently close to good spots to eat. "
"This property is very central. It was a very cozy and great stay especially at the price I paid. The only issue is I didn’t know there wasn’t any elevator and we had to take our suitcases up 6 flight of stairs which was bit of a hassle. Otherwise from that - best decision ever. Btw they do offer luggage storage up until 2pm "
