"Property needed a deep clean. I sneezed a lot and had black dust come out of my nose. Heating didn’t work sometimes and the room was quite cold. "A nice hotel, but I was disappointed with my last day. I stayed for 5 nights and asked for a late checkout on the final day, only to be told checkout latest was 11am and every hour after would be a charge of £30. This seems a little extortionate and as a frequent traveller and user of this hotel many time before, a little user unfriendly. I understand they have to clean the rooms and make ready for other people, but surely there is a more customer friendly way of dealing with this. "

"Stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the room and the breakfast was really good. However we decided to order a snack from the menu one evening. I ordered a sandwich, the menu stated fresh bloomer bread, brown or white, tuna, spring onion, mayonnaise and black pepper. When I received this it was 2 thin slices of 50/50 bread, no spring onion and the thinnest filling of tuna, more like spread. The charge for this was £8.00!! Definitely not worth the cost."

"Had stayed here before was really impressed however this trip a lot different room not great so did an upgrade expensive also paid to have breakfast for two people the food is lovely Went off for the day to Grimsby for a funeral of an old army mate after a long day came back to find the room not cleaned bed not made no fresh towels on the wife asking for it to be sorted a female receptionist said don’t just want new towels !! Not a great response after paying a lot extra to upgrade the room "

"We visit Durham at least once a month & try to stay at the same place all the time however we stayed here on this occasion, as usual place appeared to be closed. Very nice room & clean. Only issue I had was pillows weren’t very comfortable & the noise of a drill going in room next door just after 9am on day of departure, was a bit of a shock. We Would stay again though. "
