'The Hideaway' - Tucked in the Beautiful Wet Mountain Valley.

10/10 Excellent

"Exceptionally clean cabin!!! Well off the road with no visible neighbors made it perfect for hiding away for a few days. The sunroom with the propane fireplace was absolutely perfect for keeping the cabin warm and cozying up next to in very comfortable recliners. Kitchen was well stocked, certainly usable with the food that we brought… I thought I had read that there was a grill, but that was not the case; however plenty of pots and pans so that we could improvise and cook inside.Overall, it was beautiful setting and very, very quiet! We got to hear a rooster crow in the morning and cows mooing all day long… Exactly what we needed to get away from the city noise.We definitely will be back and thank you both so much for sharing your little hideaway with us!!!"

"The motel was clean and comfortable, just on the older side and worn out. It is inexpensive and great for a quick stop to sleep, but if we were staying for an extended time we would get somewhere nicer and with breakfast. The staff was very helpful and polite. Check in and check out were easy. To fit the rollaway bed in the room we had to move the chairs and put the desk between the beds, so it was cramped."

Cozy Creekside Cabin in La Veta: Hike & Fish!

"What a beautiful setting and location! This vintage cabin was just a 1/2 mile to the park and just under a mile to Main Street in Cuchara, perfect for our needs. I had looked through all the photos so I was not surprised at decor inside. The living room is a lot darker though, than in the photos. The house had a feel of My Grandparents' Place, dated and in need of a sprucing up here and there, but welcoming and spacious. The beds were comfortable, the coffee machine worked! Bed sheets downstairs and all the living room window coverings are VERY tired and need to be replaced, but if that doesn't bother you, the place is just great. We loved the porch swing in the back as well as the trickling stream. The rocking chairs out front were perfect for morning coffee. It was nice to have clean seat cushions available for all the outdoor furniture."
