We loved staying here! The bed was so comfortable! The breakfast was great! Service was fabulous! It did not have an elevator and the kind man at the desk carried our bags up for us! That’s service!

I loved it. Bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was 10/10. I am so glad I stayed at this location! 5 min walk to the historic center of town but quiet at the B&B.

hotel/bed and breakfast has nice friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast, and is in walking distance of old town York. Only issue is limited parking in back, but they managed somehow by having cars that were leaving earlier closest to exit path. Helpful with things like where to get laundry done, where to go for meals, and unusual sites in old town that we would have never thought of. Will definitely stay there again.

Suite 1 was absolutely beautiful!

We stayed three nights at the Rose and Crown in August 2016. We were welcomed by Johnny, the accommodations manager who immediately showed us to our room, and then helped us carry up our luggage. Room 3 looks out on the street, is clean and pleasant, and is just big enough for two! The bed is most comfortable, and the en-suite bath is large and modern. This hotel is located in a great location. Close to the train station and the Old town. We were impressed with our room, the friendly staff, and the cleanliness.

The property was located in a very nice little city outside of Edinburgh. It was only a short walk to the train to Edinburgh. Our host was very informative about things to do and see. The property was well maintained and very clean. I will stay there again if I ever get back to Edinburgh. A car is not necessary, which was wonderful. As an American who is not used to left hand driving on narrow lanes, I was happy to keep my rental car parked until we left for England.

A great location, quiet yet still walking distance to the Centre of town, clean, friendly, charming house with spacious bedroom and comfortable bed. We were on the top floor with a beautiful big window. Lots of great natural light. Breakfast was convenient and delicious in the charming dining room. Staff was cheerful and helpful. A very lovely spot.

Very convenient place to stay if visiting York. Two minute walk to the walled city. Nice, offstreet, parking at a very reasonable price. Staff couldn't be friendlier. Would definitely stay there again if we went back.

It is in a beautiful old Georgian Home that has its quirks but is quite warm and friendly. The chef in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The view from the street-facing rooms is spectacular!

Great overall experience here, good rooms, nice restaurant, walking distance to everything in the King's city walls. No complaints at all. Would gladly stay here again.
