"Our stay here was everything we needed and more for an adventurous week with friends. The open kitchen and living area with the pool was a great community space and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The host, Mary, was incredible and made us feel right at home. An added bonus was a fully stocked kitchen and a huge family table, great for cooking meals in. The place was just on the edge of Puerto Viejo, which made it convenient but also quiet. Would book here again, 10/10!"

"Beautiful house and property tucked right in the jungle, with direct beach access. Very close to Punta Uva which has great swimming and surfing for kids. Easy drive to Puerto Viejo for restaurants. Super clean, very well maintained, good A/C. Hosts were extremely helpful and responsive - they organized a private driver from SJO to the house, and then to the car rental the next day. Highly recommend!"

"Our stay in the treehouse was absolutely one of a kind!What a truly unique experience in the jungle. We loved waking up each morning to the howler monkeys putting on their show right in front of us in the trees. We watched a sloth for several days as well as did some hiking. The fresh fruit that Tom and Hadas left for us was such a thoughtful touch. Tom met us the night we arrived and was so welcoming and helpful with anything we needed throughout our stay. "Coming to this hotel was a last minute kind of thing and let me tell you, I am so happy we chose this stay. We stayed in a master room and they were so nicely decorated and clean. The service and hospitality is unmatched. The grounds are gorgeous. We have already decided that next time we come to Puerto Viejo we are staying here. Thankyou for a wonderful experience!"

"El lugar me pareció hermoso, si deseas vivir una experiencia de selva es un lugar muy lindo, con acceso a la playa que es muy linda. Sin embargo al reservar me hubiera gustado saber que las habitaciones no tienen paredes sólidas es una malla únicamente con cortinas, y con un bebé fue un poco complicada la estancia adicional hubieron huéspedes desconsiderados que ponían música a alto volumen en las Noches y madrugada y el no contar con paredes en la Habitación afectaba el descanso, creo que el Hotel debería poner esas reglas claras desde un inicio, es un lugar de descanso en medio de la naturaleza pero esas situaciones no lo permiten."

"Excellent staff and the property is reminiscent of a resort more so than a hotel/stay. Access to beach is extremely easy, attached to the backside of the property, though the beachfront is not 'developed' or 'set up' so do not expect a resort-like sun-chair set up. Excellent location if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto viejo, but still biking distance to get to all the shops and cafes. Fabiano at the front desk, and Rosita for breakfast service, were both absolute delights and extremely helpful :)"

"Nous sommes tombés en amour avec cet hôtel. Nous avions un bungalow avec air climatisé. Très utile car c'est chaud et humide en août. Nous avons vu des perroquets, des toucans et des singes hurleurs sur notre site. Nous avons aussi fait la sortie pour voir la ponte des tortues vertes. C'était vraiment super génial. Nous reviendrons certainement. La restauration est délicieuse. Tout était parfait."

"We had the best stay at awa!! The property is very tastefully done , location on the beach is perfect , breakfast and just food overall (including the coffee) overall is delicious, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff , esp. Johnny .. he went out of his way to help us with some last minute booking changes that we would’ve otherwise stressed about. I also asked the reception staff about the amazing coffee they serve and they were kind enough to give me a sample !! Overall very relaxing and enjoyable stay and totally worth it !! Highly recommend AWA and we hope to be back"
