Hotel Intergate Kyoto Shijo Shinmachi

"We travelled from Canada and stayed at Hotel Intergate Kyoto for four nights. The hotel is in a good location, and the staff were excellent. We also appreciated the amenities, including the laundry facilities, massage chairs, and lounge with complimentary drinks and snacks. Breakfast was available at an additional cost. Unfortunately, we were assigned rooms on the second floor, where noise from outside activity was disruptive. The rooms had very little space to store clothing for a four-night stay, and the bathroom had no storage space at all. The beds were reasonably comfortable, although a little too firm for our preference. As with other hotels on this trip to Japan, we booked through Expedia and came away feeling that we had been assigned less desirable rooms. While we can’t say whether the booking method influenced the room allocation, these experiences have left us reluctant to use Expedia for future hotel bookings."

"This property was walking distance to a bunch of markets such as Nishiki, Termachi, etc. There are lots to do around the area and very close to Kamo river with restaurants. I got sick when I got to Kyoto so the staff gave me English speaking medical clinics around the area. The property is nice and has laundry downstairs but there is a long wait time as everyone is trying to wash/dry their clothes. The breakfast is decent even though it is a bit pricey for Japan I would say. But there are variety of food. We also upgraded our room upon check in to have more space and they were able to accommodate pretty quickly."
