"Amazing room with full kitchen. Those Vintage/Antique stuffs in the Lobby looks fantastic. Breakfast is better than I expected."

"Be aware of the difference between city and suburban taxi drivers if you stay in Skokie and go by taxi to events in Chicago itself. Cabs to events, like Wrigley Field, are OK for price, but if that suburban company is not pre-arranged to meet you at a set time and location, hailing a city cab back to Skokie can - and did - triple our costg."

"Upon arriving for check in I was told there was a $100 deposit for damages. Not unusual, so I gave them my credit card, which they said was declined twice (I checked my credit card and there were no declines). They did the same to the couple behind us, who said they booked the room with the same card. We both had to go to a cash station machine and return with cash. There was no formal receipt given just $100 written down on my booking confirmation. Upon leaving they said there were reports of noise violations and did not return the deposit. They did ot say anything about damages, obviously because there were none."

"I usually enjoy staying at the DoubleTree Hotel and have had great experiences in the past, which is why this visit was a little disappointing. During our stay, the water was turned off, which caused a major inconvenience for us. It made it difficult to shower after our event and get ready for bed. I understand that issues can happen, but it would have been appreciated if there had been better communication before booking or accommodations provided. Hoping future stays are back to the standard I’m used to from DoubleTree"

"The room was not vacuumed or swept, there was dirt on the ceiling, walls and doors, even after I had asked the front desk to have someone come they only came to make the bed. The fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling and didn’t look like it was working at all. The front desk was polite but assured me someone had cleaned the room. I recommend paying more to stay somewhere that actually takes cleanliness as a priority. The walls are also very thin you can hear lots from the rooms around you."

"It's a wonderful property a stones throw from all the neighborhoods for local shopping and dining. Very comfortable, clean, and very quiet. The booking process is a little tedious but don't let that put you off. They are actively working to make sure all their guests have a pleasant and quite experience. We stayed in a lovely room with a small patio. It was very relaxing. We found the parking to be pretty easy."

"This is at best a "good" hotel but not excellent. It is convenient for the Airport area and is priced accordingly. From my experience, a great deal of staff training is required to ensure that the staff truly understand "customer service" and how a smile, an acknowledgment, a "hello" can make such a difference. From the moment I tried to check-in to be told, bluntly, that check was not until 3 and I should wait "over there". No "welcome", "how was your journey", "nice to see you", thanks for choosing us", etc... It became clear later that this was the Owner's Son - there is clearly need for a great deal of "customer service" training ..."
