Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant
3.5 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (430)
"We stayed in the cottage and it was exceedingly charming and comfortable. Staff were truly kind and gracious, and we had two great meals at the main restaurant. The nature trail on the property was a nice bonus. Great location near the national park and close to other restaurants, too. Staying at the Kilauea Lodge was the highlight of our trip."

Volcano Forest Inn
3.5 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (113)
"Jon was an excellent host. Property is 200 yards from a lightly traveled riad so very quiet. Surrounded by tropical forest only 1 mile from entrance to volcanoes national park and 25 minutes from Hilo. Room was huge, about 27'x21' with a private covered deck to listen to the rain and pheasants who occupy the surrounding forest at night. Building has a sgared common area with common kitchen. We never saw another patron and Jon was discreet. Just what we needed to recharge our batteries and have...

"I don't usually write a lot of reviews, but I specifically came back to this booking that we had in April of 2022 because I've thought about it so much since that stay. This was possibly the most unique setting I've ever had the pleasure of staying at; this was a hobby farm filled with free-range animals that wandered all over the grounds. The portion the owner uses as a visitor space is a wonderful little apartment attached to one of their outbuildings. It had views of the pond and all the...

B&B: Kipuka Twin Suite 5 mins from Volcanoes National Park
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (10)
"This was a very lovely stay, very clean and close to Volcano National Park. The beds were very comfortable and there is a hot tub under the trees that we made use of! Sarah made us a nice breakfast and had some good advice, and we were able to get reservations for a ranger guided tour that took us past the "do not cross" barrier in the Kileaua caldera! The second night there was a family with a baby that woke us up early, but that could happen anywhere. Would definitely recommend!"

"Very nice place, location is great for a visit to the Volcano area. Owners were timely and helpful with our request for information. Although we did not get to meet Sarah, she was on vacation, her lovely aunt Lila filled in. The breakfast in the morning was great, with a lot of delicious options, the fruit bowl each morning was awesome. My husband fell in love with the sandwich maker and it started the day off wonderfully. There was no coffee maker in our small room but Lila found one for me as...

"Beautiful setting in a remote location. The condominium was very comfortable, almost like home. Wish we could have stayed longer.
