"We did not want to stay in a resort in Costa Rica. We wanted a more nature oriented vacation, and that's exactly what we got.First, Ben, the host was amazing! Anything we wanted/needed, he was there for us. You won't find a better host ANYWHERE!Second, the animals around were fantastic! I've worked with animals my entire adult life and that's what I wanted. We saw monkeys, macaws, parrots, mot mot and other brightly colored birds right from our balcony!!! The house itself was very nice. Again, not luxury accommodations, but everything you need. The beach was a 15 minute walk either down the road or over a very cool, but slightly awkward (some of the boards could use replacing, but were still stable) bridge through the mangroves. The beach itself was beautiful and uncrowded with shaded areas to sit. The beach restaurant/bar, Lola's, was fabulous! Overall, a great stay and perfect for nature/animal lovers like us!!"

"Fantastic hotel, restaurant, and hospitality. We stayed in a suite... it was clean, quiet, comfortable, and had amazing water pressure in the shower. It was a perfect night sleep. We used the pool, ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and the ocean is a short walk to a quiet beach! There's a great upper deck to sit and read while sipping coffee or a drink from the restaurant. The best part was the staff/hospitality. I cannot thank the people taking care of us enough. You were the highlight! I believe the bartender/server's name was Steven(?) and he was awesome. Kind, helpful, and pleasant. The chef was amazing too! This place is a hidden gem and we will be back to stay again."

"My family and I had a wonderful stay at SoulShine. Our highlights were walking around the grounds to find the howler monkeys up in the trees - this was so cool! The breakfast menu was delightful. Our room was great, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our time lounging by the pool. We liked that there were amenities walking distance: beach, amazing restaurants, gelato, and a market. The staff were so lovely! We want to highlight our taxi driver, Dennis. He went above and beyond for us: making himself available to drive us where we needed to go, getting our daughter a booster seat, stopping along the way when howlers were spotted, having snacks and cold drinks for us. We’re so grateful for his generosity! We can’t wait to visit again :) "

The setting alone is unforgettable—every evening brought breathtaking sunsets right from the house, making it the perfect place to unwind and take it all in.While the ocean directly in front of the house isn’t ideal for swimming due to the rocks, it’s just a short walk to an excellent surfing spot, which more than made up for it. The location really offers the best of both worlds: peaceful views and easy access to the water.One of the standout features was the daily housekeeping, which made the stay feel effortless and truly relaxing.
