"My experience at the Alfred Hotel in Amsterdam was genuinely shocking. From the moment we arrived, the staff were unhelpful and showed little interest in providing even basic customer service. The situation became far worse when my brother’s bag was stolen from the reception area. Not only was this an upsetting incident, but the staff’s response made it even more frustrating—they showed no urgency, concern, or willingness to assist us in any meaningful way. It was incredibly disappointing to see such a lack of care for guests’ belongings, especially in a space that should feel secure. The staff appeared indifferent and, at times, completely incompetent when it came to handling the situation or carrying out even simple tasks. Overall, the experience left us feeling unsupported and unwelcome. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a basic standard of service or professionalism."

"The receptionist, Aro, was amazing - friendly, cordial and helpful. Unfortunately the room didn’t live up to expectations especially the toilet. The shower was leaking, water was flowing everywhere and the room wasn’t up to mark from a hygiene perspective. I told the staff and sent my complaint to their WhatsApp number, but no response. I wanted to be moved to another room (despite it being inconvenient) or receive monetary compensation. "

"Good choice. A little further from central Amsterdam but the hotel was nice. The room was really big and comfortable. The breakfast menu was a buffet with a few options. "

"Decent area, friendly staff and a tram ride away from the major attractions. Cleanliness wasn’t an issue as they had cleaners cleaning around the clock but people staying could be an issue as getting in shower after they’re coming out and leaving it untidy or not flushing the toilets properly. Other than that, no concerns and would definitely go back. However, I paid for the breakfast for 2 days and realised on arrival they’ve stopped doing breakfast so still waiting for my refund. "

"Hotel is in excellent location. It is near the Rijksmuseum, shopping, tramps, and many eateries nearby. Staff are friendly, courteous, and professional. On site restaurant MoMo is very good. Breakfast also good and cooked to order. Highly recommend to ones who visits Amsterdam."

"This is definitely one of the nicest hotels that I have stayed in . The room was massive, there was a gym and swimming pool which our 14 year old used everyday. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The sky bar had amazing views. If you don’t mind not staying in the centre it is only 2 stops on the train to Amsterdan centre and 1 to Schipol airport with a day return being 6.5 euros. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Amsterdam "

"The room was a bit small, but I was solo so not that bad. Staff was excellent, very helpful and always had a smile. Location was perfect, very convenient and close to many atteactions.. I didnt get a chance to taste the food. I would stay again and recommend this hotel."

"It was great hotel but only issue is kitchen closes at 10 so had to get a take away. Overall though it was a nice clean room. Should be wine glasses and utensils if you require a takeaway or to eat in room. Tv was not very stable in terms of picture and sound "
