"The room was beautiful with a patio that overlooked the lush hillside. The dining area was pleasant and the food was good. The onsen, however, could stand some refurbishment. The hotel advertises late checkout but I was told that 11:00 am constitutes late checkout. This seems like a bit of a scam to me. Made my departure more rushed than a I planned for it to be."

But I wasn’t prepared for the level of decline: none of the restaurants/bars were open (permanently, it seems), the front desk was hardly staffed, the lobby wasn’t an inviting place to spend time. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the onsen (hot spring bath). But no meals was unexpected & a bit inconvenient.
