"We had a lovely stay at Grimsnäs Herrgård. The facilities are far from modern, but the feeling of cleanliness totally made up for it. We were totally charmed by the old manor, the beautiful dining room, the lovely couple running the hotel and our pretty room. Grimsnäs is placed in rural country - getting there gives you a stunning drive through old country side with lots of forests mixed with old farms and fields."

Wife and I enjoyed walking the grounds, eating great food for dinner and breakfast and not having any electronic distractions in the room (they have hi-speed wifi if you just need to get online). Staff and service was fantastic as were the views. The dinner was prepared with many ingredients grown right on the property."

"Wonderful 3 day visit. From the very start, meeting Maria in reception, the friendliness and service was superb. When we couldn't ski, the absolute best experience was the 10km mt bike trip with free bikes from the hotel. One question we couldn't get answered was why some people in the restaurant were getting meals that weren't on the menu... We had great burgers, though!"

"The staff were life-savers! They are all so friendly. All speak English very well. Check in is different from an American chain so plan ahead to be in hotel restaurant by 20:00, or make easy arrangements. The room was so quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was so traditional. I loved it. I've missed Kalmar and it was good to make a visit back and stay at this lovely place. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at the BauerGarden. The cabin we had was very nice, with two rooms for for of us. Everything worked well in the unit. We made a nice dinner in the little kitchen with our unit. There is a small grocery store about 5km away with a nice selection of things to cook. Eating on our porch was very nice. Two of the beds were very comfortable, but others had a very thin mattress and were a bit hard. These were not as nice to sleep on. The rest of the bedding was great, and...

"The staff did not care to assist me in any way. My sofa bed was not made up. They asked me to open it myself, telling me the linens, pillows and the towels are all already inside. When I asked if the sheets and everything was new or has been sitting around inside the bed for a while , the answer I was given was “ I think so, I don’t know”. I asked if housekeeping can come to take care of this and was told they don’t do that. I wouldn’t trust the cleanliness of these sheets or pillows. When...
