"Spent a lovely week at Ashlea Country Cottage, Ann, the owner was so nice and helpful, made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. This is a lovely cosy cottage set in beautiful peaceful surroundings. We even got real thick snow which was an added bonus, great to watch surrounding wildlife and had visits from sheep. "Nice hotel and a lovely bottle of Prosecco on arrival. Big room and bed was comfortable. However toilet was not flushing properly so they really need to make sure everything is in proper working order. Shower control was very difficult and old fashioned also."

"Perfect for couples. It was quiet with beautiful surroundings. We took a walk to the river from the castle, and it was quiet as though we had the whole grounds to ourselves. The food was delicious and the room was cozy with a spacious bathroom. We were lucky as there was a wedding on and as a result, we were treated to a nighttime fireworks display! For us a 10/10. But be mindful that there is no AC in the room - that didn't bother us but might be an issue for others. Also note it's worth checking if there are events on as we didn't realize that if we had arrived earlier, we could have gone on a tour of the castle and had afternoon tea. We are looking forward to visiting again."
