"Horrible. Every single item or experience is an extra fee or heavily monitored, effectively killing any relaxing vibe you might want for the high, "luxury" price you pay. This is a tourist trap extraordinaire. It made me feel like I was paying to be in a place trying to extract from me, not serve me. And yes, I did complain twice to the front staff about these issues - to stony faces and lame excuses that were canned and code for "we don't care." The resort fee is $60/day (which is not made clear on Orbitz, where I booked it), yet when I went in February the pool and all outdoor facilities - which is what the resort fee pays for - closed at 6pm. We were told it closes at "sundown," even though they clearly have outdoor lights for the whole outside facility. Want to swim in the evening or night? Nope. And if you dare to be in the pool at 6:01, there were six staff for every one guest to tell you to get out. You have to wear an armband everywhere you go. There is no coffee in the connected by long walks) to their coffee in the room. You can pay $10 for a cup of coffee at their coffee shop. But don’t try to drink it by the pool. Those seats and lounges require you to pay a fee, even in February when there was NO ONE there. If you don't want to pay, you can find a free lounge on the outer fringes. And if you try to sit without paying, there are staff to tell you to move immediately."

"Kinda surprised at the W South Beach. Decent pool, but not enough food options. Basically one restaurant supplying mostly the same food to the pool, bar and restaurant.I liked it but didn’t love it. The adult only pool was kinda dismal. And the main pool you had to relocate every few hours if you wanted sun. Not what We were expecting. Probably a one and done. Great staff though."

"Enjoyed it very much. Staff quality spotty, music at the real swimming pool w loungers pool (not the beautiful long pool w no loungers), was Far Too Loud. But the beach was gorgeous, the restaurant very good & the room nice enough. (Why cheap dispenser soap next to the bathroom sink? I went to the drugstore to buy something decent. Similarly, 1-ply toilet paper in a "luxury hotel"? Both are wrong ways to pinch pennies.) I'd never stayed at an "adults only" hotel & really did find the swimming pools more enjoyable, much as it's so much fun to watch kids enjoying themselves."

"The staff were consistently rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. It often felt as though any question or request was an inconvenience, which made for a disappointing guest experience. Unfortunately, the room we were assigned was located on an outside corner at a busy intersection that was undergoing major construction. Overnight construction crews worked through the night, creating significant noise that made it difficult to sleep. The valet service was also frustrating. It was slow, and the process for both dropping off and retrieving our vehicle was unclear and confusing. I was genuinely excited to stay at this hotel and had high expectations based on its reputation. Unfortunately, the level of service, room location, and overall experience fell well short of those expectations."
