"We stayed at The Grand last weekend for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic, right next to the York wall and only a 5-minute walk into the town centre.
The hotel staff were so welcoming, and the doormen in particular were incredibly friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We parked in the NCP car park just around the corner, which was really convenient.

"I was with a young friend and her 3-year-old boy. The waiters were really sweet with him bringing him a folder with colouring games to play and a fox mask. One waiter brought him extra strawberries. They all made a fuss of him which was much appreciated.
We had very good service too! And enjoyed our breakfasts and dinner. We just had one night with you.

"Jorvik House was a great stay for our overnight trip in York and was centrally located but away from the crowds of the city. The room was well appointed and quiet, and we had the best night’s sleep of our entire 3-week UK trip in the very comfortable bed!
The only fault of our stay is the lack of clarity around the parking at the property - we weren’t aware of the parking situation before we arrived and the closest car park was £25 per night. "
"It has to be admitted the hotel is a maze which makes it difficult to find rooms when first you seek them.
The car park is an asset. However it can be difficult to manoeuvrer a car and it is easy to be blocked in.
The rooms are every thing you could hope for: quiet, comfortable and clean. the choice for breakfast was all I could ask for. "
