"Overall we loved our stay. The drive way is steep and it is a solid 30 minutes from a store or gas station. However it is a beautiful place to be for the weekend. The sun hits the deck and land in the morning and you get a good view. The land is all on a hill so no real flat sections. Lovely fire pit which we loved. The cabin itself is very well kept and clean. Lovely details. "

"Nice house, older but completely reworked & upgraded inside & out. It was clean & felt comfortable, nice clean beds. It rained a little, on & off, while we were there so we didnt get on the porch very much but you could hear the creek anytime you stepped outside, it was great. We saw several deer while we were going back & forth to the house. "

"This was a nice stay in a cool mini cabin. It is near the shops and restaurants of downtown West Jefferson, and easy driving to hiking or other interesting towns like Sparta or Boone. There's a little porch on the front, but not much reason to hang out outside on site - my only negative.Would recommend!"

This picture was taken on the New River while I was out learning to fly fish with my father. The one thing that I really take away from this picture is how peaceful it is. I think that this represents the Appalachia region because for the most part this river has always been here. At one point it was someones way of catching food for their family, or a way for them to travel to different places down the river. But, today it was the river that let me enjoy time with my father without the distractions of technology or the busy world around us. This river will probably continue to be here long after we are gone, but one thing is for certain it will always be apart of Appalachia’s identity. #appalachianechos
