"We had booked this hotel for its pool and spa facilities…spa pool, sauna and steam room for a relaxing weekend. Although they’d announced it on the hotels facebook page on the 2nd (which we found once we’d arrived) there was nothing to say the pool and pool area was going to be shut from 13th (day before we arrived) for 6 week. So the very reason we booked this hotel was then unavailable! Would have been nice to get an update about this from the hotel beforehand, when they’d clearly knowing...

"The room was outdated. T.V didnt work.Couldnt watch t.v from bed. Had to sit on the end of bed Bath tap dripping. Old water leak mark on wall. "

"I hadn't told them that my husband used a mobility scooter. The hotel had no lifts so they happily re roomed us to a ground floor room. My only gripe was, although they did ewarn us that the room was dog friendly. The pillows smwlled of dog!"

"A nice place to stay. Breakfast was great with plenty to choose from for all tastes. On the second morning the staff were a bit slow asking us if we wanted tea, coffee or toast and as a result our cooked food was half eaten before it arrived. Apart from that, a pleasant stay. "

"Really great base for exploring the Lake District.lovely quiet area with a really pleasant atmosphere. We had a 2 bed lodge which was clean and well kitted out with everything you need. If I’m being picky maybe could do with a refresh but no complaints from me. Great communication by SMS and a really pleasant break.👍😃"

"Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Food and drink were both great and reasonably priced for the quality. The room gorgeous but I do recommend a pair of ear buds/plugs as it is on the main street and rooms to the front do have traffic going by from early in the morning."
