"The bedroom was spacious and clean. The decor everywhere is very tired in the bedroom, bar, stairs, restaurant, outside. The interior was unclean and shabby. The staff were ok. The food was not. Overcooked chicken in a burger which was meant to be a chicken breast not breadcrumbed and fried/airfried. Breakfast was also poor. Little choice, tables uncleared, no cooked food being replaced, only sausages left by 9am. The website pictures are misleading as to the quality of the hotel. Very disappointed especially as it’s not the usual standard of Hotels.com listing. "

"Its a lovely traditional country cottage with the backdrop of Penyghent that had all the essentials you need as if you were at home and right next door to a homely tearoom. Heather was a superb host to us. Ideal for you walkers and hikers of the Yorkshire 3 peaks. Would definitely use again!!"

"My room was left open all day by cleaning staff so all of my belongings were at risk of being stolen. Restaurant staff were unable to get the chef to cook our vegetables properly and they are unable to cook a soft poached egg properly."
