"Comfortable room in a town pub close to amenities. Surprisingly it was very quiet through the night with only the gentle chiming of the clock tower to be heard. Host welcoming and friendly.had our evening meal there which was very tasty and arrived quickly. Breakfast was a lovely full english served downstairs in a sepparate area with a bright and cheerful setting."
"An enjoyable stay, use of the spa being free as a guest, 2 hour booking having the spa to ourselves was extra special, weather this be the same if hotel was busy, spa pool was quite small would have been quite full.
Staff friendly and courteous. Highly recommend the Coctails, a little pricy, reduce to £9 as £13 bit steep, we would have had more.!

After being let down with our original booking, we found the Black Lion Hotel.
It's set in a small, quiet village near the river.
We had a superb evening meal, the pub was busy in both the bar and restaurant area all evening, which is always a good sign.... the food was superb, service was excellent
The room we stayed in was quiet, clean, the bathroom was a good size, the bed was comfy.

"Great communication from the owners😊, and we would definitely stay here again, some of the fixtures were a little tired but that didn’t bother us, the room was great, the shower probably one of the most powerful we ever had definitely beats some of the big hotels that we have stayed in. "Booked this hotel for a weekend due to location to Watkin Path. Staff so kind & helpful, Rooms clean & tidy with ensuite bathrooms including baths in two out of 3 rooms booked. Use of lift to rooms. Breakfast selection plentiful and hot, evening meals superb & well priced.
