"Lovely stay at this pub with rooms - good food too "

"Although this hotel is slightly outdated, could probably do with a freshern up (the reception smelt a bit musky). The receptionist was lovely and the hotel staff very friendly. The bed was suprisingly comfortable and I slept well. "

"The room, and venue itself, was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty of room for our weekend bags and hanging space for our clothes. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower pressure was good. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, particularly the young lady who served our breakfast, and the kitchen staff kindly catered for my slightly awkward breakfast request. They were also quick to check whether I was fully vegan when I requested no meat or eggs, as the other items were to be cooked in butter. I really appreciated this attention to detail. The downstairs door (below our room) clanged heavily as other guests came upstairs, but in such an old building, I'm not sure there is much that could be done to mitigate this. But because the rest of our stay was so comfortable, we felt it was not that much of a problem, especially as it didn't continue for long. The cost is higher than we'd usually like to spend, but it felt worth the money for such a pleasant stay. "
