"Nice property , clean and well maintained. Easy and swift check in. The advertising of the hotel focused a lot on the gym , Golf, Spa and swimming pool facilities, and I was a little annoyed to find out on reading the small print ( after we had booked) that there was a £15 per person charge to use the pool. We felt that this should be pointed out more prominently as the pool and Spa was one of the main reasons for booking."

"We stayed 2 nights here . What a wonderful hotel . The staff were amazing. Helpful and very friendly . First night we ate in the restaurant. Food was plentiful hot and so delicious What a star Neil our waiter was . Happy to chat about the area and gave us some ideas of where and what to visit . Loved the ladies at breakfast who were so attentive . Again food amazing and piping hot til the last mouthful . Thank you Duck Bay Im sure we will return one day ."

"The room was clean. The bathroom has been renovated with good shower pressure. However, the beds were quite uncomfortable. Note that there is no elevator on the premises - not a big deal for us but that may not be the case for everyone. Lastly, the breakfast is overpriced. I would probably go out if I were to return. At 15 pounds each, that converts to just under $30 can. Even in overpriced Toronto, that’s expensive."

"Perfect location to hop on/off the Hunters Quay ferry and an easy ride into Dunoon on quiet roads or a shared path. The room was large and well furnished and everything worked as it should. I’d booked two nights to stay but booked them separately as my plans had changed. The staff were happy to make sure I kept the same room for the second night. Was able to keep my bike safely locked up outside the front entrance too so that’s a bonus."

"Nice breakfast, The property looks the same as it did 5 years ago and has lost that cosy feel. It needs a little TLC and it seems to have lost the ‘Scottish roots’ Staff are very polite but wouldn’t say friendly with almost a passive agressive attitude. "

"This place is pretty tired and no effort is made to make it look less tired than it is. The staff gives lots of good chat and is perfectly friendly but there was not much substance behind it. The milk I was promised for my room never materialised, room service was left in the hallway all day, etc. a charge for coffees at breakfast was added without being told there was a charge for « specialty ». Overall quite disappointing."

"The hotel was great! It's a solid example of a proper Scottish hotel. Though the carpet on the stairs on some floors was showing its age, I honestly find that that adds to the character.
