"We were made very welcome, our room was lovely and warm (important as it was very cold and frosty), lovely and clean. Bathroom with a bath, but no shower. Large, comfortable bed. Very cosy. Breakfast was great and kept us going on our 10 mile walk that day. We had a lovely evening meal in the pub, which was well cooked and presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

"Old coaching inn in the middle of Buckingham, so the accommodation layout is quirky but perfectly adequate. The bar area is very well laid out with refurbished, different sections for sitting/eating and a massive area for watching sport or playing pub games, plus an outside area. Excellent service and very friendly hosts. Great for an overnight stop and I expect will be fun when the Euros are on !"

"The bar was quaint and seemed popular. The accommodation was appauling. We did not stay! The room was cramped, badly stained carpet, far too hot (November!) which explaines the huge black dirty tower fan next to the bed. The ensuite had a wash bowl encrusted with years of green limescale over the whole bowl. The shower head constantly poured water and was left to drain laid over the drain in the tray. We were warned not to trip over the shoes strewn in the corridor!! Do not stay here."

"Fantastic stay Great service, we received a complimentary upgrade too. The only downside, which is temporary, was that the spa was not available for use as it is being refurbished. I can't fault the experience! "

"A delightful hotel with friendly, professional and efficient staff. The breakfast is self service and very varied with continental or English. The rooms are spacious, clean and have tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a bar in the hotel that leads out to beautiful gardens. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the train station where you can get services to London, High Wycombe and Oxford. Highly recommended. "
