"It's a large hotel, with nice but standard rooms, full bath. It's fully committed to its chocolate theme, which makes it a little kitschy, but has an amazingly large breakfast with both sweet and savory items. It's located outside the center, so a bit of walk uphill to the center, or you could take public transport (bus or Mini-metro). The hotel has free, easy and ample parking, so it could be a great base for exploring nearby towns."

"One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, every single staff member was friendly and kind. The spa was beautiful and relaxing. I will definitely be returning."

Booked last minute on our trip to Assisi not really knowing about this gem, but turned out to be the best! Very friendly staff. The location is just the best if your planing a trip to Assisi. The views are amazing and your not far from the basílica of st francis and Maria degli angeli. The best !

Castello Di Monterone is a small castle that has outfitted into an 11-12 room hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable with high quality bathrooms, windows, etc. There are lots of little alcoves, inside and out, to hole up in. Great view of Perugia from across the valley, and the city itself is only a few minutes away (although it's one of the more maze-like experiences to try to get into the city center.)
Wi-Fi works well, although it's broken into a handful of small zones, owing I...

Staff very welcoming. Place is a restaurant and B&B. Wonderful breakfast! Parking convenient. Not a walkable
Location l, but very convenient drive to Spoleto. I had a private room off the main house, only issue was the bathroom was dated but still clean and functional. Gorgeous view of the lower valley.

Absolutely Stunning! The grounds and rooms are first class! The staff is friendly and helpful in all aspects during the stay. Peaceful and serene is an understatement. Food and breakfast at the resort is top notch. Other dining options near the resort are amazing. Al Baciamano and Seven Cafe are great stops. Close enough to Tuscany day trips. Will definitely stay again and share with friends looking for a relaxing first class stay and amenities.

Absolutely breathtaking!!! The rooms, the view the service and the location. WOW!!
And Salvatore is an absolute gem. We were unsure of how to get there and so he told us to call him when we were nearing the hotel
and he stayed with me on the phone and guided our every turn. He waited for us outside so we wouldn’t miss it. Talk about outstanding service. Every room is so charming and tastefully decorated and has the most beautiful views. And just a short and beautiful walk to get to the center....

About 20 minutes drive outside of Gubbio and up a mountain, the Castello provides a unique hotel stay. Our room was in a building inside the walls. It was quite large with a very roomy bathroom with both large tub and separate shower. Beams, stone walls and wooden shutters contributed to the castle atmosphere. Just steps away,at the entry to the castle itself is the door to the restaurant or up the stairs is the breakfast room/common area-both with wood burning fireplaces. Arriving in late...

This is a lovely hotel close to the center of Perugia. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was immaculately clean. The view over the city and into the Umbrian countryside was lovely. We were very happy with everything the hotel had to offer.

Set up like a country manor. Elegant chandeliers, marble staircase, beautiful table setting for breakfast. Personable host, nice room and view of country side.
Best to call host on Whats Ap for directions to the property once you turn on to the dirt road

Beautiful hotel, excellent staff, amazing food, QUIET.
Sitting in the hot tub amidst the ruins of a Roman amphitheater was beyond all great travel experiences.
Excellent chef, with a respectful eye towards organic and local tradition. Restaurant is a bit expensive, but far superior to the tourist restaurants in the center. Beautiful breakfast buffet, homemade pastries, and bread like bread should be made.
The experience is worth every penny.

I would say this, probably has the best air-conditioning in all of Umbria!
Extremely clean, moderately comfortable with a very nice breakfast. Above all, the staff were as charming as Umbria itself.

This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Umbria. The hotel was beautiful! The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. The safe was so convenient as it was in a drawer and you didn't have to get on your knees to access it! The breakfast was awesome and the restaurant in which we had dinner one night was amazing! The hotel is centrally located so we could drive to other areas in Umbria. The town of Citta de la Pieve is very quaint and has lots of restaurants. I would...

Only stayed for one night, but it was an enjoyable stay. As others have noted, you check in at the restaurant and then are directed to the door which leads to the staircase up to the hotel. We arrived before check in time and were just looking to store our luggage before we went up the hills, but as the room was available, the staff allowed us to go right away. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. The rooms have a mini fridge and toiletries (shampoo/ body wash dispensers)...
