"The whole hotel was generally a bit “tired”. It’s a beautiful building in a lovely location, but needs a refurbishment now. The staff were mainly helpful , breakfast wasn’t the best though . The spa needs some TLC also."

"Horrible hotel. Something out of a horror movie. Room horrible, beds belong in a prison. Totally different to pictures. Overall the second worst place ever stayed. Shower was lethal turning to scalding with a tiny movement. Staff bored and unable to do anything. Ghost hotel with hardly anyone there. Couldn’t find anywhere else or would have left immediately"

"Often as a single traveller you are put in a broom cupboard of a room. At the Corbet arms i was given a spacious room with a king size bed and sizeable ensuit. The room was clean and comfortable. On arrival I had an enjoyable lunch in the restaurant. The menu offered lots of choices and the food eas reasonably priced."

"Couldn't ask for more, we had 4 female cyclists riding around Shropshire on ebikes and the Darwins Townhouse were so helpful in every aspect, storing the bikes, etc. Rooms were beautifully decorated and lovely beds, superb breakfast as well. They also had lunch in their sister property which was very good. Will certainly be using again. Many thanks"

"We used the spa which was lovely, everywhere was clean and tidy could have done with a refresh on the bed head board , staff very good, breakfast a bit disappointing as it was in pots to keep warm , which sort of steamed everything"

"The hotel is VERY tired. It needs a lot of money spending on it, but if it did, it would be fantastic. Staff were really good but not enough of them. The guy on reception seemed to be doing everything. The swimming pool was really good and the gym looked good as well, but I didn’t have time to use it. We had a bar meal which was perfectly fine and a reasonable price as well. I hope the owners spend the money to bring the buildings up to scratch, ( a new coat of whitewash on the outside and complete redecoration on the inside would help immensely). We only stayed one night and for what we paid, it was perfectly fine, but I wouldn’t want to spend more than one night there though…"
