"A lot of reviews for this house were quite bad. This is the review of the room we had on the ground floor. Massive room & bathroom. Shower for less able people & a lovely big bath. Everywhere was spotless. We had a 6 foot bed that was very comfortable. Yes, the wallpaper was old & stained but this house is very old & must take a great deal of upkeep. The dining room was lovely, as was the breakfast Our friends had the room next door & their opinion was the same as ours. All 4 of us would...

"Staff wonderful and great breakfast included. Wireless was spotty. Kitchen odors /noise was in my room- but I had the least expensive single in the back of a dark hallway. Bed comfy!!"

"Great stay for a couple of nights, perfect location waking up next to cows each day! Walkable into Haddington. Kitchen head everything to cook breakfast and evening meal, including small oven and hobs"

"Super friendly staff, right on the course, restaurant/bar and good breakfast. What else could you want?"

"Great hotel, would stay again!"

"This is absolutely one of the best hotel stays I’ve had and I have travelled all over the world. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and location is beautiful. The spa downstairs is nothing short of amazing . But absolutely the most amazing thing about this hotel is from the moment you arrive you feel like you’re staying with family. I went downstairs in the evening to ask for some cutlery and the receptionist said hello Nicki how can I help you? I was so surprised that she remembered my...

"المكان جميل وماحوله جميل لكن لايوجد خيارات للعشاء والغداء إلا القلعة ومطعمهم غالي جدا عشاء ٣ ليال لشخصين يوازي الاقامة فيها وعلى الاكل ضريبة .. انصح بها ليلتين فقط ويكون معاك سيارة"

"Good parking space"

"The only downside to this property really was the lack of air conditioning. It was extremely humid when we were there and no way to remove the humidity from the room. But it wasn't hot or anything, so not a big deal. The staff was super nice, the breakfast was great, everything worked well. I especially loved how declining service came with a perk or a charity donation."

"Todo muy biueno"

"Such a great hotel! The amenities were over the top for the price point. So conveniently located and the rooms comfortable and beautiful. No view and the window was against an alley that was very loud at night, however they cleverly put a big door to close and it rid all sounds when closed."

"Great location and a stunning castle view. Staff were great."

"Great rooms, amazing historical aesthetic and atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and kind. Food was great. No lifts, so plan to take your bags up flights of stairs. EV chargers sometimes get stuck, but hotel has response teams on standby to help right away."

"Always a lovely stay at the Doghouse. Helpful, friendly staff and fabulous rooms"

"Excellent value foroney. Would recommend to friends"
