"Cute little place right by the lake and close to Mt. Fuji! The place was nice and clean. They provide great amenities like bicycle rental and other information for tourists. Staff was very kind as we were allowed to wait for a few hours until our bus came. My highlight was the bath as it was a very traditional experience with the yukata!"

"This property was a treat to stay in, especially for the price. The traditional futons made for a quiet, relaxing evening before a busy day of touring Fujiyoshida. I was a huge fan of the wood floor bathroom and wooden bathtub as well. I would recommend spring or summer stays, as the traditional construction means it will be quite cold in the winter, but it was a lovely stay and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Mt. Fuji."

"We had an embarrassing experience of trying to check into the Ten Yu hotel, which is the higher ended hotel with the same name. I wish they would have acknowledged that it “happens all the time” but all we felt was embarrassing and shame. Once checked into the Kowakien Hotel, everything was fine. But the initial embarrassment never left us. We did enjoy the onsen and food, and the location was perfect. Just don’t make the mistake we did… but the hotel is wonderful."
