"The whole vibe of seeing the ocean at the back of the hotel, and watching the sunrise from the room. Most of the staff were good. I requested for early check in but room was given firmly at 3 PM. Breakfast is just okay. The bathroom sink can be cleaner."

"We loved our stay at Kauai shores! The hotel was just like the pictures, we loved the restaurant. The complementary valet was great and handy since parking is limited. I loved that is close to the stores and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and stay here again! "

"Great location! The ground unit made it a breeze to walk to the ocean for our morning coffee a s evening walks. It’s very close to the pool area, which has a great little happy hour and outdoor bar. The unit had everything we needed including beach chairs and boogie boards plus a nice little ice chest Will definitely stay here again! "

"The oceanfront views are excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location is within walking distance of a few restaurants and shops. Comfy bed and nice balcony. Renovated bathroom with oversized tub but challenging entry/exit which could be resolved with handle assist. Great parking and awesome pool with waterfall. "

"Fern Grotto Inn was perfect for us! We felt like we stepped back in time away from the hustle and glitz of modernity while providing all the comforts and supplies we could want. We chose this place because of the kayaks/river, and it was a highlight of the trip! Full size fully stocked washer and dryer, snorkel masks, beach chairs, well-equipped kitchen, dreamy mangos right off the tree, friendly staff. The east side location provided easy access for a day on the north shore or heading south to Waimea canyon. Walked to Lydgate Park to watch the sunrise every morning. We would absolutely stay here again! "

"Enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and the cost was great. Having laundry facilities in the unit was wonderful. We enjoyed the lanai with the views of the ocean. Quite relaxing. The amenities were dated, yet the location, view, and cost made up for it. Would stay in this unit again."
