"The highlight of this hotel, aside from it's obvious beauty and charm, is the staff. I had an issue with my room when I arrived, and they took immediate action to move me to a better suited room. Everyone I spoke to, from check in to bag holding to the gift shop, was kind, helpful, and eager to help.
Also, I bought a scarf/shawl from the gift shop that saved me on this trip during the chilly Chicago nights. It even inspired my friend to pick one up, too! I also grabbed some Garrett's popcorn for my mother-in-law from the gift shop, which was great because it saved me from having to go to the actual shop for it.
I will say the breakfast buffet was just okay, not worth the price in my opinion. But the little food shop by the elevators was very good and had pretty much everything I wanted and needed.
My only complaint is that the air conditioning in the rooms was very finicky. I know it's an older hotel though. My first room had an AC problem and was even a little musty smelling, and while my second room was much better smelling, the AC still didn't get very cold, so I woke up quite often during the night due to being too warm.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again."
