"I came with little expectations, but was really pleased with this hotel. The outdoor onsen is really nice. The corridor is a bit noisy when someone walks by. Some dust and spider webs in the top shelfs but nothing really bad"

"Such a peaceful experience. Clean and spacious rooms. Amazing baths especially the outdoor bath. Food is plentiful with a wide variety of flavours and the staff were very polite. The building is a little tired but the service makes up for it. "

"The resort is surrounded by nature, very quiet and peaceful - perfect if that’s what you’re looking for. It can be a bit inconvenient without a car, but there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel that runs at specific times and goes to the nearest train station, Shiojiri. The owner was very kind and even offered to pick me up and drop me off at the station, and he also took me to visit the old town, Narai-juku.

"Very friendly and accommodating hosts. They prepared us an amazing 4 course meal for dinner and a beautiful breakfast. We played games after dinner and they helped with suggestions about what to do in the area. "

"Easy to park. Wife would give it 4 stars. 6 yr old would give 5 stars for the rock climbing wall. No lift for 2nd floor rooms and would have life more space to open suitcases but overall nice place to stay."

"Beautiful vista, food was great (strongly recommend doing a dinner reservation AND a breakfast reservation) owner was extremely kind and generous. He spoke better English than I spoke Japanese, which made it extremely easy to meet in the middle. 10/10 experience."

"I had high expectations that were exceeded. The multi course meal designed to reflect the flavours and food from the area was exceptional. The room itself was very impressive too with a comfy bed and hot bath prepared for check in. Staff were very friendly and accomodating also. The surrounding area is full of unique craft shops and interesting places. Definitely have a night here at least in your travels"
"Hotel staff were friendly and courteous. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Hot spring was excellent, relaxing in outdoor one looking up at stars was fantastic. We also enjoyed the breakfast very much…so many choices of delicious food including desserts. "
"The room was spacious, and the breakfast was delicious, though mainly Japanese with just some bread rolls, which may be limiting for those who prefer the Western style breakfast. There were separate onsen areas, one open to public and the other just for the hotel guests. The public bath was open only for limited times, and the amenities were minimal."
"If it’s on an overnighter then it’s not bad but if you’re traveling with family and friends and looking for peace of mind and service then this is not the hotel for you. We were quite disappointed with the service and amenities of the hotel especially in such a beautiful country city. We were 2 families travelling in town for 2 days for site seeing and catch up with family. We checked in and the hotel rooms was very tired and quite small with bits of the decoration and parts of the wall was falling apart. I would say the breakfast was the highlight with different dishes offered each day and the self serve coffee station was a nice touch but that’s where it all ends. The staff didn’t speak English at all so trying to get information is hard. The securities of the hotel is not the greatest either where there is no safe in the room and they advise you to put your valuables at the front desk. When you leave each day you have to leave your room keys at the front desk which is a inconvenience and doesn’t give you a sense of security because everything is essentially in your room and to have to pick up the keys again afterwards is such a inconvenience. The mini fridge inside the room is also switched off when you arrive so be sure to switch it on and have it running before you put any drinks inside. Additionally with the rooms so small if you’re looking for a place to have a drink in the lobby there is no common area for you to hangout. They have a sign posted to not stay in lobby."
"If you are a tourist, this place is only accessible by taxi. If you want to take the bus, make sure you do not have luggage as the city busses are very small. The onsen is really the highlight of the place. "
"It is too overpriced, very old and cleaning room is lazy! Two day night stays for 350000 yen with no breakfast? However, it is Dec 27 and 28 ! I expected better! "
"A lovely property! The house and rooms are very clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely book this property again should we visit in future."
