We very much enjoyed our stay here and would happily stay here again. The hotel was in a quaint area of town very close to Kensington Garden, but it was still very convenient to get to public transportation which allowed us to get everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were somewhat small, but they were well-designed so nothing felt cramped and we had plenty of room to move around. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice, and the area was quiet. In addition, the...

I was looking for a hotel that wasn't a corporate cookie-cutter type. And I found it. Yes, charming is the word for it. And character is a good descriptor as well. The double room was rather small, but it fit our needs. I was visiting my daughter who is attending a nearby college. The room and bathroom were cozy and clean. It felt like staying in someone's home rather than a generic, antiseptic hotel room. The decor is eclectic in a good way. There is a library and sitting room-- again...

I booked at the Portobello after my usual favorite B&B in London closed, which turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. The Portobello is a wonderful small hotel for travelers not looking to be at the heart of all the touristy action. The very friendly and accommodating staff made my all-too-brief stay an extremely enjoyable experience. The room was cozy but clean and brimming with amenities (Free WiFi, free international phone calls and turn-down service with chocolates among...

Clean and safe hotel with a continental breakfast. The Bayswater underground station is 3 blocks away. The staff was excellent. We had a room with 4 single beds which worked well for us.

Couldn't ask for a better location. Literally Portobello Market was a few steps from the the location. Place was clean. Would definitely stay there again!

The location was pretty great. It had lots of food options and stores at walking distance. It also has a few tube stations that are very convenient. The room was small but we knew this was the case so we were prepared for it. It did had a weird layout because it had a fire door separating the bedroom from the bathroom and it made the already small space more awkward but we made it work. Although we never used it, it had the option of daily breakfast for a fee which is convenient. The room was...

Feels like you're going into someone's home; there is a fairly large office on the ground floor than stairs leading up to your rooms; very clean and well decorated; Only about 17 rooms with maybe 3 on each landing as the building is 6 stories high but narrow (part of a larger complex; but rented separate). As there is no 'lift' it could be a problem for some to climb if on a higher floor. My room was on the 2nd floor so was manageable and I'm a senior. Room was comfortable; good use of small...

This is a very nice, quiet little hotel in a great location just north of Kensington gardens and near two tube stations (Queensway and Bayswater). Great service and breakfast too. Every type of restaurant you could ever want is within a ten minute walk (ethnic, American, fast food, etc). Also, a grocery store, pharmacy and several quick shops. I’ve stayed here multiple times and highly recommend it.

The front desk staff was soooo accommodating, I arrived from the US and they expedited my check in so that I could shower and get dressed before my event. They even offered to take photos for and got anything I need upon request. The rooms, especially the bathrooms are soo beautiful, I loved the marble. Housekeeping tidy up my room without asking. It was the perfect location for exploring the city, only 10 min walk from Paddington station and close enough to explore Hyde park and make use of the...

We love the area and this was our 5th trip staying in London and also the longest we've stayed. We ALWAYS stay in this area, there is so much near by, very walkable everywhere, close to 2 tube stations. We loved having an apartment this trip!

Lift to rooms stairs down to the breakfast hall. Fridge and microwave also a safeIn the room. Shower door was located touching the sink made for a tight squeeze. Overall Highly recommended.
