"This is a very local non touristy village. We enjoyed the hospitality (even if we couldn’t communicate) The owner helped accomadate my sea food allergy. We really liked the hot bath available in the beautiful water. The only thing I would say is that it isn’t close to anything and you have to walk about 22 minutes to the train "

"Small Roykan but facilities are well equipped. Wide-view of the Lake and location is silent, but no shopping nearby. You'll love the silence and peace atmosphere. Around 10 rooms here so the public bath not a big one, while in-room onsen bath with lake view is the best."

"Fantastic meals, excellent onsen, beautiful view and amazing staff."

"Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Great hotel and brilliant amenities."

"People do say that property is dated however it is a "grand" hotel. The style is reminiscent of older hotels but that shouldn't bother you unless you're expecting state of the art facilites."

"Perfect place to enjoy Japanese Onsen and Foods Great staffs!!!"

"The staff was very helpful. The place is closer to the woods, but still in a residential area. It was a pleasant experience."

"Great hosts at a very calm and relaxing place. "

"Beautiful room and scenery, we loved it!"

"Great place to stay"

"We enjoyed the spacious ryokan with easy bus access to shrines and shopping."

"If you looking for a quiet family oriented place for 1-2 nights outside Kyoto with a Ryokan and privacy. This is the place. Bring lots of games and books, nice walks along the river. It is not a large hotel and it is not easy to get to. But the right circumstances make this a perfect experience. "

"We have been return guests at Yoshida Sanso for many years. it is the easily the best ryokan in Japan. "
