The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel
8/10 Good
"I really liked this hotel. It has the faded glamour of a Victorian Manor House. It needs updating as it is a bit tatty in places. However, the staff were lovely, it's very convenient for Pitlochry and the restaurant was excellent and good value. They have a pool but we didn't try it"

"It's a great old grand hotel, with a friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast, and comfortable lounge spaces. They just need to fix the wi-fi! It was terribly slow, the signal is weak, and I couldn't get the work done I needed to do. The phone signal in Pitlochry is sketchy at best, and with the thick stone walls I couldn't use data, so, for the price I paid I felt frustrated by the inability to make a simple video call."

"On the downside the menu did not change on a daily basis . The height of the bath was almost impossible to get in and out. The staff were very nice , chatty and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I would recommend the hotel for short stays."

"I was given a warm welcome by a woman at reception whilst checking in. Clear directions to the room were given. I used the bar later in the evening and had excellent service from the bar staff. Checking out was effortless and although I wasn't having breakfast, I was offered a free coffee by the same female receptionist, which I declined. My room was spotlessly clean, comfy bed, basic toilet but again so clean."
