"The staff at the Hotel Abbazia went above and beyond for us. (Shout out to Mirko, Matteo, and Raffaele!) We had an early flight out of Venezia and they saved us from paying 150 Euro for a water taxi; instead, they coordinated a porter for us so we could walk over the bridge and take the bus to the airport. We were going to miss breakfast, so they packed us generous to-go bags so we had something to eat. We really appreciated the kindness of the staff! The hotel itself is a little bit of dated elegance, but for me, that's what Venezia is. It's absolutely perfect for its location. Our room was very clean and nice with comfortable beds and a quality A/C (which was needed because it was HOT outside!). The bathroom is completely updated with a fantastic high-pressure shower (better than my one in the US, which is hard to find sometimes in Europe, in my experience). The wifi at times could be a little spotty but we were in the farthest room from the entrance, and the building is really solidly constructed. Overall, a great experience at a reasonable price, and in a good location. We were a 5 minute walk from the train station, a 2 minute walk from water taxis and water buses, and a 7 minute walk from the bus and car taxis."

"This was a nice property for our family, with separate bedrooms. The bedrooms are upstairs while the bathroom is on the first floor. There was a cozy living room and small kitchenette. The beds were very comfy. The property was well maintained, had AC units on both levels, and was very quiet. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station but outside of the tourist area. There are several restaurants nearby along the canal if you do not want to go far for dinner. It took about 30 mins to walk to San Marco Square. We enjoyed our stay at this property."

"This hotel is PERFECT location to the hustle and bustle of what is classic Venice. A fun and unique property made up of several buildings. The AC blows really cold and the room was very clean. The water bus stop is right in front and so are gondolier stand is across the canal on the other side. I would highly recommend this place for your stay in Venice!"

"Great hotel, close to transport links into Venice city centre. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Venice was extremely hot but the aircon was amazing. Breakfast was good with lots of options."

"what a wonderful hotel. Right on a small canal close to the water bus. It is a bit away from the really busy areas and had very good restaurants close by. They have a lovely bar where you can actually get a great martini or drink of your choice by American standards. The staff was great. I can't recommend this hotel enough. We loved it for our 3 day stay. Even the air conditioning was reasonable and some tv stations in english."
