"The last time I visited San Juan we stayed in an Airbnb & it was very noisy and just overall not a great place to stay so we wanted to try a hotel this time. CasaBlanca Hotel was great! Hot water in the shower. Quiet despite being in the middle of the city. Great location & was able to walk everywhere! There are plenty of restaurants to try different foods in the area, coffee shops, as well as a pharmacy nearby and historical sites within walking distance. Cold AC kept us comfortable when we were resting. TV actually had cable which wasn’t a necessity obviously but a bonus when we were coming home late at night and wanted to watch a movie. The hotel has breakfast served there, a bar on the rooftop, and 24/7 free coffee bar in the lobby as well. They also offer to store your luggage before check in and after checkout if you have a late flight and want to explore the city while you wait. They also have a list of excursions you can book too at the front desk. Staff were accommodating & very friendly. "

"Hugo’s location is superb, walkable in Old San Juan anywhere. Communication with property manager/owner was very prompt. Easy self check-in/out. My only complaint is that there were sands/something on the bed and towels when we arrived, which later found out to be likely from the ceiling. Hugo staff came in to change the sheets and replaced towels as requested very promptly. I was very pleased with this stay and would highly recommend Hugo and would definitely return. Bonus, paid parking garages are also within a few minutes walk. Very convenient! "

"We loved everything about this place! The location was great for us as Fortaleza sits right inside OSJ. We rented the 3 bedroom (2 bedroom/1loft), which came with a spacious bathroom, dining room, lg eat in kitchen w/bar counter seating, living room area, and balcony. One of the bedrooms has doors leading to the balcony so that was sweet treat for the person who occupied that room. Our suite which was on the second floor was a short two flight walk-up, there are NO elevators so keep that in mind if you have someone with mobility issues but the main floor has suites available as well (not sure what size though). Our suite was clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom was well stocked, the place felt spacious and definitely exceeded our expectation. The check-in/check out process was easy, we encountered 3 different front desk staff through our stay there and they were all friendly. Katie was such a pleasure and she definitely contributed to making our stay great. Fortaleza has a beautiful common area with seating, an open kitchen w/complimentary coffee/iced water, and a reasonable priced vending machine. There is a bathroom just a few extra steps away right outside in the lobby next to the front desk. We used the space while waiting for our shuttle driver to arrive. One aspect that stood out was how well Fortaleza communicated with us throughout our stay there. Reminders of quiet hours, inquiries of housekeeping needs, etc. were all sent via text. We loved that.
