"On arrival they told me we couldn't dine there that night. I pointed out that I didn't travel hours to a remote hotel just to sleep there. I asked to see the manager and was about to demand a refund when they decided I could be squeezed in. "Stayed in one of the VIP rooms. However, wasn't one with the jacuzzi which seemed a little misleading based on the description. Arrived at the spa for them to have no record of us and waited for them to sort it out which considering the paying for club access is kind of a mood killer. That said the spa is nice and the treatment was fantastic. One of the upstairs shower rooms has mould on the wall which again isn't acceptable. However the venue is lovely. "The staff in the restaurant were very unhelpful and a tad miserable. They made no effort. The breakfast food was ok but nothing more. I couldn’t locate gluten free bread options nor could I find a member of staff to help. I had to ask for cutlery when I chose what food I could. The service was unimpressive. However, I attended a wedding the day before and the food was very good indeed - gf was catered for brilliantly which I why I have given it a 3 star rating."

"An excellent stay when we were there for the wedding. Really friendly staff, good breakfast and comfy rooms. Would have been good if coffee from bar didn't shut at 9pm."

"Room was clean but whole floor smelt of cigarette smoke. It’s a shame because the rooms are letting down the hotel as the rest of the hotel is very nice and it could be a top spot to visit. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the grounds were stunning! Food was also great but more on the expensive side. I had the burger on the menu (£18) it did come with chips and was tasty! Good place to stay if you want a short stay but it could do with some TLC"
