"This is a truly wonderful place to stay, and we had an amazing vacation. The property itself is beautiful—the view from the deck is stunning (though slightly less private than the photos appear, but not a problem), the kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, the king bed is comfortable, the outdoor shower is a fun touch, and we enjoyed all the wildlife around the property. The property manager was also wonderful and worked hard to make our stay enjoyable.That said, I think the listing details are a bit outdated and could use an update to better manage expectations. We switched to (and splurged on) this property specifically because the listing mentioned a heated saltwater pool in addition to a hot tub. In reality, there is a hot tub and a regular (unheated) pool. The pool also did not seem to be saltwater. While this didn’t ruin our stay and is understandable, it was disappointing since the heated saltwater pool was a major factor in our decision and the higher price point. I personally didn’t use the pool since it was a bit chilly for me, but my husband enjoyed a refreshing post-beach dip most days while I sat out and enjoyed the view with him. We realize now all we really need are those beautiful St. John beaches anyway.Overall, we loved staying here and would absolutely recommend it to others. If a heated pool isn’t important to you—and you don’t mind the adventurous (but totally manageable) drive up the switchbacks—you’ll have a fantastic time. Great location too."

"We loved staying here. Unbelievable snorkeling directly in front of the house--we saw turtles, rays, cuttle fish, blue tang, and more--like swimming in an aquarium. Absolutely would stay again. Host very welcoming and supportive."

"It was an amazing experience! The views from the house were incredible. The wrap around deck afforded at least 270 views of coral bay. We met my daughter and son-in-law there and it was a great house. Both couples had privacy- yet there was a spacious kitchen and living room where we would have meals and also play games. Paul was the perfect host. He was incredibly responsive and helpful. Overall, a wonderful getaway!"

"We absolutely loved our time at the beautiful Estate Hansen Bay. We stayed for eight days and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the island, discovering beaches, and hiking the nearby trails. We also took full advantage of the beach access down the hill, which is both walkable and drivable.The snorkeling off the private beach was incredible—we saw numerous turtles, nurse sharks, large puffer fish, octopuses, stingrays, and hundreds of stunning fish. Evenings spent in the pool were a highlight as well, all while taking in the breathtaking views.The owner, Ken, and the property manager, Jeremy, were exceptionally helpful throughout our planning and went above and beyond during our stay—even checking on us after all flights in the Caribbean were canceled.We highly recommend Estate Hansen Bay if you’re looking for a beautiful, secluded, peaceful, yet adventurous vacation."

"My family of 5 just spent 2 weeks at Concordia…. And it was absolutely magical. The location is ideal and the views are incredible. The cabin on stilts we stayed in fit us all perfectly. We loved the feeling of being unconnected from technology but super connected to each other and the nature surrounding us. We filled our days with adventure and our nights with laughter and games. The staff was always there to help with our every need. The pool was beautiful and the restaurant served amazing drinks… I loved the painkiller…and delicious food… we tried everything… I loved the conch fritters. I honestly can’t wait until our next visit."

"Heavens Gate is a very special property ! The views just wow - it is a great space to gather with family and friends. Very comfortable accomodations and loved the outdoor spaces and the views. "Laundry available. Everything we needed was available. Host very attentive when needed. Would suggest Jeep for the driveway to Villa. And for the roads on the island in general. Beautiful views every day. Pool was convenient and clean."

"We had a fabulous experience! The view is incredible, with the constant sound of waves and a refreshing ocean breeze. The balcony and outdoor space were amazing—enjoying coffee while watching the sunrise was the perfect way to start each day.The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and each room had its own air-conditioning unit. Jim, our host, was respectful, courteous, and incredibly helpful. He had snorkel gear ready for us, and the beach chairs were a huge bonus. He shared great recommendations for places to visit, local sleep remedies, a charter company and captain, and even invited us to a Christmas service. When a small repair was needed, Jim responded quickly and resolved it promptly. He was also very responsive before our arrival.The island offers beautiful beaches, bays, and fantastic restaurants. We recommend exploring as much as possible, but don’t miss the views at The Windmill Bar—we went three times! We loved 1864 The Restaurant in Cruz Bay (twice) and Gingo’s as well.We also recommend FlyAway Charters and a visit to Eden Jewelers for some beautiful bling.Pro tip: Pack bug spray and anti-itch cream—mosquitoes and no-see-ums are common on the island no matter where you stay.We would absolutely stay here again.
