"Akiko was incredibly helpful from the booking process I needed to modify as well as answering any questions I had. The Machiya was absolutely beautiful and is so authentic. There was plenty of room to accommodate our 6 adults which is rare to find. We were also amazed at how many bathrooms there were which made mornings easy for everyone to get ready for a day of exploring. We were also happy to be able to use Netflix in the evenings as we were resting our tired feet and bodies. The location...

"Very nice traditional house. Very clean. The host is very friendly and accommodating. However this house is best suited for 4 people or less, not for 6 people nor people that has problem going up steep stairs as the two bedrooms are upstairs. Also, with only 1 shower it is not convenient for 6 people that wanted to shower. The other two people had to find another place to stay since it was super cramped."

"It’s pretty and very traditional kyoto property. Walking distance to kawaramachi station (10 mins). It’s a nice experience to stay in the house. Just I feel the tatami floor and cushions are not clean enough and the bed mattress was a bit hard. Overall it’s a good stay."
