"Amenities are great. You are in a middle of wildlife. We see monkeys, iguanas and coaties everyday. it is a big resort to explore. They have a few big pools. The beach wasn't as what we expected because of the sargassum but the resort staffs did try to remove them everyday. There are sections where you can swim but we decided to stay by the pool. They have the carts/buggies to bring guests around. They have a variety of entertainments every night and we were able to book a la carte for most nights. The nights that we did not get to book was by preference because our child wanted the buffet and we wanted to watch the nightly shows. On the first day, can't complain about the room. It is clean. The sleeping area looked updated. But the bathroom could use some updating but it was clean. The only issue was that we had to switch rooms twice and would have been 3x had we not insisted to just exchange the mattress of the sofa bed or the whole sofa bed with the sofa bed from the other room. The two switches from before was needed; 1) outlet sparked losing electricity in all outlets and 2nd) sliding door broken, can't use the balcony. the issue with the sofa bed took a long time to get resolved. Probably due to language barrier. But when we spoke with their guest services representative Adan, it was resolved right away. Adan was always there to attend to our needs. This is the first time that someone actually made sure all our concerns are addressed. This is top notch customer service!"

"The buffet was very repetitive and often cold or dry from being left out. Omelette bar, fresh fruit, French toast and tacos, we’re always good. I have a gluten allergy, and they were very accommodating with any of my requests. Booked restaurants were higher quality, with the Brazilian being our favourite. The coffee shop was one of our favourite features with hot and cold specialty drinks and desserts. Rooms were spacious and beautiful, but some updates needed. We had adjoining rooms with our children which elevated our overall experience. The sports complex was a highlight for our children (age 10-16). It had a wide variety of sports and activities. The spa was beautiful, clean and offered many services. Pool drink service was available, however only one server was working at a time, for the whole pool area, which made for slower service. The server however, was very friendly and hustled. The pool was spotless, people scrubbing it at dark and again first thing in the morning. The pool area was spacious and we never had to sit directly beside another family. The White Sands beach had an astonishing amount of seaweed. However, we could utilize the beach at the colonial. The beach chairs were spread apart, giving people space and breathing room. Servers were also at the beach, which elevated our experience. We didn’t attend any of the shows at the Kantenah, however our parents really enjoyed the Beatles cover band that played one evening. The grounds were mature and well kept."

"Excellent family-friendly vacation in a peaceful tropical setting complete with coatis, flamingos, and monkeys. Large inviting pool (deep so bring a floatie!) + fabulous little kids splash/slides area. Spacious resort - you would never think the hotel is actually sold out as there's always room for all. "

"It was beautiful. Pool freezing cold. But it’s the time of year. Pool outside of room was so cold we couldn’t get in it. People were amazing. Sea weed was hard. Food delightful. "

"We had an ocean view room and it was perfect! The food and drinks were 10/10! We love the lobby bar and the coffee shop. The hotel smells amazing and is really beautiful. The staff is so kind and helpful. Josue was our lovely host and he put champagne and balloons in our room for my birthday and checked in with us everyday to see if we needed anything. All the pool servers were excellent, especially Uriel and Cony. My only complaint is I wish this hotel would STOP with the upsell push. It is egregious. People are exhausted after a long travel day and they make the checkin process way too long by making you sit in the lobby- while it is beautiful- and wait for at least 3 different people to come talk to you. We almost never came back after our first trip because of this. They did not attempt the sell job as bad as last time because I made it clear in my booking notes, but checkin still took almost 30 minutes and there was no other guests in the lobby. I highly suggest they stop doing this. It is a major turn off. Otherwise, the hotel and restaurants and staff are top notch!"
