"Liked - We have stayed at the property before and was aware of the surroundings. Didn't like - Would have liked to have known what VIP was? Noise - lots and lots of young kids being very loud with voices and music ZERO / No American music played in Disco Room refrigerator did not work. Reported it and still wasn't replaced or repaired. "

"Staff at RIU is amazing, they provide excellent service. Location is great with beautiful beach 🏝️. Property is well maintained. Food is great. Spa and wellness, very good. The only thing where I would like to see some improvements are rooms that can use some updates, bed mattresses are slightly too firm for my preference. Overall I would recommend this property to my friends and family."

"I made a reservation for Grand Bavaro but i had to do an upgrade to Bahia principe Luxury Esmeralda, I loved Esmeralda for being on the first line close to the beach, the things i did not like was the air conditioning not being on, on the buffet and restaurants, the buffet close to the beach did not have too many options to eat and the most of the staff was not helpful you had to ask to many times for water or drinks on the buffet."

"The resort was very nice, no ac in the lobby area so prepare for heat. Front desk and concierge never picks up the phone! However the staff is overall friendly, helpful and always around the property. Bowls are needed for soups and cereal!! Also flys will be on the food— indoor and outdoor dining which is expected but at first it was gross. They will try to offer you a specialty dinner or breakfast but a 90 presentation is involved where they try to get you to buy a timeshare so skip the offer...
