"Very beautiful place with an amazing full time staff! We were not aware upon booking the resort wasnt fully open but the rooms are exactly as pictured... STUNNING I hate my husband couldn't fully utilize the resort so that felt like a waste of money. The train/busses were not properly scheduled so unfortunately we missed our dinner reservations after waiting 30 minutes for it never to show up. Our last night we were told to walk by one driver because he didn't want to drop us at our stop. I was floored by the disrespect and moreover having to walk in pitch black to our room which took about 12 minutes."

"We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels."

"2nd time staying at Ocean Maya Royale. First was 2024 and most recently May 2026. Both stays exceeded my expectations. We arrived around 11am, while we were unable to check in until 3pm, we still had access to the resorts amenities such as the restaurants, bars, pool, beach etc Once we checked in- the room was clean, they accommodated our request for 2 beds and near the pool. The room was nicely decorated with roses and an animal pillow + other amenities ( we checked in via the Privilege room & received these perks ). The fridge was stocked with 4 bottled waters, 2 local canned beers, Pepsi, Orange Fanta & Diet Pepsi. There was a safe in the closet, 2 chairs + a table on the balcony. An umbrella was conveniently in the closet & plenty of storage space. The beach was filled with seaweed and the red flag was up- definitely was not able yo swim this trip to Playa Del Carmen. However - the staff made up for this with service. Everyone was excellent and helpful. The food at the buffet and the A La Carte restaurants were even better than my first visit. Except at Yakasoo- the Japanese restaurant- food was good however as I was enjoying it, so was a fly. This was the only thing that soiled that experience. Staff was notified. Activities included - a nighttime foam party at the pool, sip & paint class, facial massage class, water aerobics etc Special thanks to the lobby bar bartenders- Eduardo & crew! Pool bar bartender- Miguel and crew!the activities team! Gustavo & Lupe"

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean Riviera Paradise - All Inclusive

"The reason for my rating is based on the "Adults Only" portion of this listing and the feeling of the resort being understaffed. This is a very misleading listing, and this property is in fact NOT adults only. This resort is attached to a much bigger resort that allows kids. There are only a few locations that are actually adults only, but we noticed that the staff even stretches those rules and will allow kids in those locations as well. The service at the restaurants and bars were underwhelming and at times we felt that we were being ignored and overlooked. We brought our concern up to staff and it was met with mixed reviews and sometimes felt that we shouldn't have said anything at all. The pools and beach service was very lacking and unless you went up to the bar yourself, you were not going to get any drinks. You can also only get food at the actual restaurants, which either had very off hours, were closed, or you needed a reservation for. There are no food stands or poolside/beachside service for food. The resort itself was very clean and kept tidy. I would recommend this resort for families or those with kids, but not for a couple looking for an adults only getaway."

"My wife and I travel as a hobby... and we travel in luxury. The Rosewood Mayakoba is the most luxurious experience we have had. The spa is perhaps the best on earth, the interior mangroves and boat rides to restaurants is such a cool experience. The rooms are literally on top of the water, private pools, AMAZING service... truly an experience that I hated to end!"
