"Spa was great and had a friendly staff. Facility and grounds were clean overall but beach shoreline not cleaned up and rooms smelled musty and linens were sour smelling. Room service food was terrible but restaurant food was enjoyable and offered a wide array of options."

"I spent six nights and seven days on the ninth floor as part of the elite club. Overall, I did feel that the elite club upgrade was worth it. The room was very clean. Housekeeping took care of it every day and did a wonderful job. All of the staff around the property were very kind and helpful. I ate at all of the restaurants and the food was very very good. The buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent. I spent the first day at the swim up bar and it was a little too much for me. I spent the rest of my time at the elite club pool. It was nice to have my own cabana. I am a wine drinker and really the only complaint I can say is that I wish they would stock the refrigerator in the room with bottles of wine instead of soda pop and Coors beer. Who drinks Coors beer?"

"When we got to our room, it wasn’t what I paid for. I paid for 2 double beds with seaside view and balcony. We walked in and it was a King bed and the balcony had no chairs or even enough room to have a chair on it. We went back down to the desk to change rooms to what we paid for which was 2 double beds but they told us they didn’t have anymore left even though other people in our party got 2 double beds after I asked to be moved. And the rooms with 2 double beds had a large balcony with chairs and a hammock. Our air conditioner stopped working on day 1 and I told the front desk about this multiple times and it was never fixed. The bathroom door lock was stuck with the lock pressed in so if you happen to shut the bathroom door after exiting, you were locked out. The Italian restaurant wasn’t open on a Saturday night for dinner. The party doesn’t stop at 10:00 when the pool closes and you can hear everything. Out door wasn’t sealed and you could see out to the hallway through the door significantly which is probably why we could hear everything. The ceiling fan in the room spins at such a low speed it creates zero breeze to help cool the room when your air doesn’t work. We were told no so many times by a variety of different departments even though this is supposed to be an all inclusive. Would not stay at a Barcelo property ever again."
