Beautiful little property with a nice pool and hot tub. The host provided us with a cute little welcome basket with delicious treats.

Nice and clean, spacious apartments. Most of them are in separate houses so it feels very private and calm. Only real complaint is the breakfast, which was poor (small selection and didn't feel fresh -- croissants were probably from yesterday and ham of cheap variety). Since the apartments have kitchens and nice terraces, however, this was only a problem first day before having been to a supermarket. I would also recommend them to get do-not-disturb signs even if the cleaning staff seemed to...

Excellent resort with great view, service and gorgeous setting for relaxation.

Wonderful quiet spot close to everything the island has to offer —city, outdoors, beaches. The cottages are well equipped and perfect for families or couples. The resort has a pool, hot tub, and small gym on-site. Owners and staff are attentive and responsive. Made for a great trip!

Excellent experience, overall. The hotel is gorgeous and the ocean views are unbeatable. The property is very well taken care of and the staff were awesome—very friendly and accommodating. Ribeira Grande is a bit remote from Central Ponta Delgada, but everything is far away around the island anyway. A rental car is a must in São Miguel and having a car will make your experience more enjoyable all around.

My fiancé and I have visited Sao Miguel twice before, staying in Ponta Delgado, and decided to venture out of the city center. We were not disappointed with our stay here. The location was beautiful, the hotel was modern and refreshing, overall it was a wonderful experience and would certainly stay again and recommend to anyone looking for something off the beaten path with all the amenities and views anyone would need. - chris M. 6/19/18

The staff was very pleasant. hotel was very clean. Well maintenance. Rooms were very, very nice. Location was perfect for what I needed to be. Would stay there again.

We stumbled upon this gem of a resort by accident, and it turned out to be one of the best surprises we’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel truly welcome and cared for. They worked magic to have our room completely ready for an earlier check-in, saving us from a long wait after a tiring journey. Every little need was met with such warmth and professionalism. What really made our stay unforgettable was the private dinner we requested. They not...

I stayed here with my boyfriend for one night and it was our favorite stay in Sao Miguel! The staff were kind and accommodating & even helped us celebrate our 3rd year anniversary. I would highly recommend this place! Extremely clean and the pool and pineapple greenhouse were amazing!

The most amazing hotel and staff. Every part of our trip was fantastic and everyone was so helpful and kind. Would HIGHLY recommend

We arrived and were met by friendly & efficient staff who got us checked in quickly with no wait - even though it was before lunch. We went directly to our beautiful 2 bedroom apartment which provided gorgeous ocean views. A fully outfitted kitchen with any appliances you need to enjoy dining in. A Snack Bar/coffee shop is a couple of blocks away for that morning latte. An Azores walking trail along the ocean is directly across the street! Our family loved staying at Whales Bay...

Some people may think that the location overlooking the ocean on the north shore is too secluded from the main towns, Ponta Delgada and Ribieros Grande, but we liked the fact that we could easily get there by cab or rental car if needed. This full service resort was an ideal spot to recharge and get away from crowds and noise of the more popular touristy spots.

I cannot write enough good things about Casa da Ilha. Jessica and the staff treated us like family. The breakfast was terrific and personalized. Having access to a fridge, filtered water, and all day coffee was an added bonus. Parking was easy and convenient.

Very accommodating of our late arrival. New portion of the facility where we stayed was top notch. Breakfast was very nice and well presented. Staff very friendly and helpful - even provided a free ride to the airport!

I stayed at Hotel Do Colégio for a week in early July and had a great stay. Check-in was very easy and I was able to get into my room early, which was much appreciated after my overnight flight from the US. The two women who often worked at the desk together were extremely kind and helpful. The room itself was clean and had everything I needed (I did ask for an electric kettle at the desk). I did not use the breakfast, dinner, or pool, but from what I saw of the building everything was clean and...
